Forward Technologies LLC ("Forward") is a portfolio company of IP Holdings LLC, a business incubator affiliated with General Patent Corporation. Forward was established in 2000 to license and enforce a patent in the communications field related to remote call forwarding. Forward's patent expired in 2001, but its licensees include several telephone companies, both large and small. Industry leaders such as Pacific Bell and its parent company, SBC Communications Inc. have taken a license under the Forward patent.
